Layton Holman
Mr. Holman began his career at Riverton Elementary School, completing student teaching and a long-term substitute role before moving into a teaching position at Woodville High School. From there, he advanced into administration, serving as assistant principal at Section High School and later as principal of Woodville High School.
Under his leadership, Woodville High School earned recognition among the Top 20 schools in the state for Report Card Improvement during the 2023–2024 academic year. This accomplishment highlights his focus on academic growth and student success.
Education is a family tradition for Mr. Holman. His mother is a retired educator, and his sisters are also teachers, continuing a legacy of service in Alabama public schools that began in 1981.
He and his wife, Autumn Cothren Holman, a proud Hazel Green High School alumna, live in New Market with their three children: Addilyn, Kingston, and Remington.
As he stepped into this new role, Mr. Holman shared, “It is a great honor and privilege to be chosen to lead the Madison County Virtual Academy! I can’t wait to work with the great staff and families across Madison County. Go Rockets!!!”
